Temperatures will be near seasonal over the next several days with below average temperatures on Sunday and Monday. Each day will feature the chances for scattered showers/storms, but not everyone will see rain. Rain chances will peak on Saturday afternoon and evening.

The risk of locally heavy rainfall will increase Thursday. Stronger storms will be capable of producing an inch or more of rain in 20 minutes. While ingredients for heavy rain will be in place, there is uncertainty to storm development and evolution. In addition, storms will be moving fairly quickly, so that could limit the threat of flash flooding. Stay tuned to the NWS for further updates.

Shower and storm coverage will show a slight uptick as we head through this evening, mainly in and near the mountains and I-25 Corridor. Precipitation chances will increase for Thursday through Saturday, with Thursday afternoon and early evening bringing a threat of locally heavy rainfall.

Central Rio Blanco County in northwestern Colorado...

* Until 245 AM MDT.

* At 1251 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over the Lee Burn Scar. Between 0.2 and 0.5 inches of
rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1
hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow.
The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other
loose materials.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the Lee Burn Scar.

* At 625 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
