Another warm, summer-like day can be expected with high temperatures reaching 90F or better across most of the plains and I-25 Corridor. Only an isolated high base shower or weak storm is possible, with the main threat being gusty outflow winds to around 40 mph.We finally see cooler and more autumn-like weather arriving by next Tuesday. While we can't promise the cooler weather will stick around for the rest of September,

Mostly sunny skies are expected over the next few days. Temperatures should warm into the low 90s on Friday, before a cold front drops temperatures back into the mid 80s on Saturday. Much warmer temperatures are forecast again on Sunday. A cooling trend is expected next week, along with a return of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. -

Aug 6, 7:21 PM EDTIf you have not yet gotten credentials to re-enter the fire area you will now need to go to one of the Larimer County Clerks offices in either Estes Park, Fort Collins, or Loveland during regular business hours.
New resources have been posted online for people returning home, including info about food safety, hazardous debris removal and post-wildfire cleanup: https://www.larimer.gov/alexander-mountain-fire
The SW Incident Management Team 1 will transfer command of the fire back to Arapahoe NF on Friday, 08/09/2024.
