Texas Republicans passed a law saying that social media services have no right to block stupid speech. In response, we at #FRZ added a rule barring Texas Republican politicians from accessing our service.

Today, we received a moderation report that a Texas Republican politician had, in fact, to my surprise, pulled their head out of their ass long enough to figure out how to make a fediverse account. We suspended it, per our rules.

We maintain our sovereign rights against this idiocy.

@chrisg To brag: freeradical.zone #FRZ had a "referendum" on this and @tek , the instance owner respected the decision of the people to defed from Threads from the get-go onwards, even though it did not reflect his personal opinion.

@tek I'm a little surprised to find myself asking this, but have you thought about raising the character limit on #FRZ ? The current one is not really conducive to non-superficial discussions.

@celesteh Hi, mod here. We are volunteers with limited time. This proactive searching you suggest is not practical.
That said, any report (at least on freeradical.zone #FRZ ) will get also its context, the reported user's home instance, etc. scrutinised and the widest appropriate blocking applied.

So my advice to people targetted by abuse: report any and all harrassment, and we will make it stop. If this is not true on your home instance, move to another one.
