Also, it seems plans for a Free Guy sequel have been shelved, which is okay. The standalone film is great, and the ending works.

Apparently, they were going to do a sequel in which Guy integrated into the real world in some way, but decided to shelve it after the Barbie film used that concept.

I love that film so much. It’s got one of the best film takes on AI, wrapped in multiple genre layers.

I hope they have a really good idea for the sequel Disney asked for. If not, they shouldn’t bother making it.

I just watched #FreeGuy and it was great

I rewatched Free Guy the other night. Imagine Ready Player One had an alien love child with The Truman Show. Chuck in subtle (and not so subtle) references to The Matrix, They Live, and a bunch of other movies and video games. It's a riot.

Too often, Hollywood turns a creative premise like this into a paint-by-numbers bore. But the script is clever, the visuals are full of amusing little details, and the performances by all the actors involved breath life into it.

Как из "свободного парня" можно было изобразить "главного героя"? Переводчик посмотрел фильм... и тоже понял, что это продолжение вселенной "Игроку номер один приготовиться".

Да, именно так. "Попаданцы - хорошо, но наскучило. А давайте сделаем ещё одного попаданца, под франшизу, и даже расскажем в фильме, как это круто - франшиза".

Плюсы - фильм хорош. Вот реально хорош. IMDb: 7.30, я бы за картинку дал все 8.5. Но за "хеппи энд", и весьма плоские персонажи, что живые, что "NPC" - вот за это приходится немного отнять, а сценаристу настучать по кумполу, и объяснить, что таких дебилов на самом деле мало.

Так что где-то 7.80, для аудитории подростков и геймеров. Типичный геймер в фильме показан очень реалистично, я бы даже сказал - жизненно.

Детям смотреть можно. Там всего лишь весёлое насилие и убийства, без всяких намёков на сиськи. Взрослым - нууу, я вот смотрел с чувством, что "ну вот так должны выглядеть игры, когда долбанные производители решат, что таки предыдущие версии уже выдоили все возможные деньги из геймеров, и надо браться за нормальную виртуальность, и делать для этого нормальные железки.

Самой "игры" показано достаточно мало. Пожадничали на компьютерную графику. Зря, как мне кажется. Зашло бы.
