I headed into Wodonga this morning to see my own place, water the garden etc. & picked a couple of tomatoes that aren’t quite ripe but will now do so on the window ledge. Tomatoes are the only thing I planted veg wise this year, because I absolutely love them & they have taken up a fair bit of my little veg patch. I do have Silverbeet in a pot elsewhere & that’s on its third year, probably won’t last much longer. Has a big root system - but I will just keep picking for a bit longer 😁.
I also took the dogs for a walk to the creek first thing which is as dry as a bone & very interesting. The dogs thought the smells were pretty awesome too. There was a wild plum tree that are found everywhere, in this part of Aussie at least & it was down the bank of the dry creek. A great spot to get extra water & they’re a decent size & very sweet. I did eat more than a few. I’m going back tomorrow with a couple of bags & will do a harvest. I’ll wash them & store them in the fridge until I go home & then stew them for winter eating.
