Back again from English Dance Week at Pinewoods. I did a lot of English country dancing. I played clarinet for ECD in the campers' night band. (First time playing clarinet in a band since about 2008 and first time playing for ECD ever.) I did a Bidford morris dance for the first time and a new unnamed morris style for the first time but then again it was the first time for literally anyone. I did longsword dancing for the first time since 1992. I sang a lot. I met lots of people. I had a great time.

We went to Norways oldest festival going since 1923! Landskappleiken is a national championship in #folkmusic and it moves to a new location every year. This time it was in Hovden in Setesdal where the tradition stands strong. Believe it or not no youtuber has made a serious effort at covering this amazing festival so we just had to! If you ever have the chance to attend it I would wholeheartedly recommend going it was amazing!

A few weeks ago we brought spelemannen Per Anders Buen Garnås and Hekate trio across to mountains to Festspillene i Bergen! Between DJing alongside Charlotte Bendiks and running for falafel I got quite some stuff on camera that you can see now! The episode is out in the occation of our Blodklubb at Pride Park Oslo tomorrow! Let's #folksmaxx into the summer!

@HollieK72 Traditionally morris dancers in Shropshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, and the Forest of Dean, as well as bedlam morris dancers in Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire, usually wore few or no bells. The big bell pads with lots of bells were a peculiarity of the South Midlands ("Cotswold") morris.

The Binghamton Morris Men and the BF Harridans will perform English morris dances on the streets of Binghamton this Friday evening (June 5) at First Friday. Afterwards I realized I had this photo, taken 35 years ago in the same room by someone standing in almost exactly the same spot as the person who took my picture Saturday.
This was a morris dancing workshop with Phil Underwood of Thames Valley Morris (in England) teaching Oddington dances.
Some of these people I haven't seen in years, some I still see regularly. One besides me was even in the same room on Saturday.
