my Lady, Queen of Heaven?
Did he kick, and cry, and squall?
Did you cry out
and grasp Joseph’s hand?
Did you kneel and pray
or weep with relief
when the heavenly babe
came forth?
Did he take his first breath
of his own free will
or did he need a slap
to open up his lungs?
And when the shepherds arrived
did you greet them with joy
or wish they’d just leave you
in peace?
What was it truly like,
my Lady, Queen of Heaven? -
