@chrissie and I like to 'visualize' the characters from Finnegans Wake. Here is the man himself looking particularly like 'Jaunty Jaun' with his curly hair. This photo by Berenice Abbot first appeared in transition 13 accompanying the latest installment from Work in Progress, one of the Shaun chapters from Book III in Finnegans Wake.

re-reading #finneganswake now for I think the fourth time, but this run using a concordance, and I don't know if that's really better, it's still fun, but I've only thus far covered about four pages, I'm possibly deeply informed of Dublin pre-history, and now deep in the difference between þ and ð!
it seemed a good #stpatrickday eve thing to do, that, and OMG yes, must remember to pour a #cuppa and leave my windows unlocked!

Gratifying to see my essay cited in the new book, 'Timeless Joyce: A Hundred Years of Ulysses' by Asun Lopez-Varela Azcárate, 2023. Quite generous use of it, I'd say, especially regarding the identification of the star, Aldebaran, and extensive paraphrases of the mythological material on oxen and bees, lacking direct citations within the text. Finnegans Wake reading group finishes the book after 28 years and then continues on to page one.
I would do this in a heartbeat if I could find such a group that fit my schedule, etc. So inspiring imho.
