  6. Red States are in general the ones hardest hit both by "austerity" measures, and outright #plunder like these parasitic tariff scams.

  8. The #OMN takes a deliberately different path, not building around “nobody gets the power” pretending governance doesn't exist. It is grown from the harder principle that no individual gets to own power.

Not me. not you, not the cleverest developer,
not the loudest activist or the person who got there first. Not the person with the biggest server, or the person with the biggest following, not a little committee that slowly becomes an unelected aristocracy.

This matters because “decentralisation” defaults to easily to a form of #stupidindividualism. Everyone is supposedly free, supposedly has their own power. But in practice power accumulates around whoever has the time, money, technical knowledge, social connections or biggest platform.

That isn't a commons, it is just #feudalism with better branding. The #OMN idea is closer to shared infrastructure with distributed responsibility. Power comes from participation, trust comes from doing.

Governance is visible, processes are open, decisions can be challenged, mistakes can be corrected, people can leave. And nobody gets to quietly turn the commons into their personal kingdom.

  9. The Fediverse is a step

It as to be said, most people don't have a clue what I am talking about, so let's do a brief breakdown of the #KISS structural problems of centralized platforms and how they warp and shape all our social interactions. And with this problem we need to highlight how this ties directly into the #geekproblem, #4opens, and the broader issues of #dotcons and digital feudalism. Key issues: Centralization breeds #feudalism. One big virtual server means a few people have all the power while the rest […]

Let's do a brief breakdown of the core structural problems of centralized platforms and how they warp social interaction. This ties directly into the #geekproblem, #4opens, and the broader issues of #dotcons and digital feudalism. Key Takeaways: Centralization breeds #feudalism. One big virtual server means a few people have all the power while the rest are serfs. “Ease of use” is often a lie. It just means the real costs are hidden—either pushed onto users (moderation, unpaid […]

  14. The biggest issue I take with #JDVance's stance of viewing #NativeAmericans as "enemy", replacing #ColumbusDay with #IndigenousPeoplesDay as something to be fought against, and the idea of keeping all these monuments to racially controversial figures (in general, because he's also in favor of monuments to the #Confederate leaders who murdered hundreds of thousands of Americans in the name of #WhiteSupremacism and #feudalism), comes even before getting into whether or not any of this is factual, but just the general concept as a whole...

In successful #ConflictManagement and #ConflictResolution, we always have to keep in mind that every #conflict has to end.

The main point of renaming these sites and these holidays, of observing the wrongs that were done and encouraging peaceful coexistence, isn't just because some people are "offended", it's because the conflict is not useful to society, and we want it to resolve.

That he doesn't want to resolve conflict speaks volumes about him.
