  1. Everyone needs a hand every once in a while, and you could do worse than having a dragon on your side. Ahktu recently returned to Beneterra from the draconic exile in Drausk, and he's eager to right wrongs. He also wants to build a monastery to teach the Way of the Ascendant Dragon.

Feeling crappy today, so I'm tinkering with a #DnD5E feat. I think I've got it where I want it, making alchemist's fire and other grenades a viable primary weapon with extended range and a bonus to critical damage. Alchemists unite! Let me know what you think.

We take a look at life in the darkest hours of night for this week's Rumor Mill. From drinking and drugs to press gangs, and burglary to sanctuary, we cover many potential activities around the quiet streets of the city.

  4. We look at diseases in The Rumor Mill this week. From lycanthropy to the common cold, we take a look at some of the afflictions in and around Fellport that you can resolve with lesser restoration.

We've got one for the bards today. Traditional instruments from cultures around Fellport fill our list of rumors today. Everything from bagpipes to scabella, and even the new glass armonica for a little underwater music in Nelendi.

Now for a look at Finn Durgin's best-made blade: Occam's Razor. It's light, sharp, and helps cut through lies. Thanks to @MBridegam for the nudge to write it sooner rather than later.

You can find Fey Pools in the deep forest, surrounded by a ring of mushrooms. Don't linger under the light of a full moon, or you may find yourself whisked off to the Fey Realm, possibly permanently. Usually found at ley line nexus points.

Every harbor needs protection. Fellport's breakwater took an amazingly short 4 years to construct in the early days of the city, at a cost of mere hundreds of Dunhill prisoners' lives.

I've missed a few links in the previous #City23 index, but I've caught all but one omission for this index of all things Fellport and Beneterra. Have at it.

Execution Wharf isn't used much lately, but the wind carries the whispers of the dead under the gibbets where many pirates' bodies hung as punishment and warning.

  11. A couple of miles down the Shore Road from Fellport, an old Ionian estate sits atop a cliff. It's fallen into disrepair over the decades, but twenty years ago Ciara Mornay inherited it from her uncle Julian and turned it into an animal refuge for animals from around the word. She renamed it Menagerie Manor.

  12. I'm sprinting to finish what I can for #City23, and I thought I'd take a moment to post about what I'm thinking for #Lore24 since it's only a few days off. Be warned, there's more #Fellport content ahead, just with a wider lens.

  13. "Adventurers needed. Hazardous and wildly variable extraplanar conditions. Constant danger, safe return doubtful. Possible riches and great acclaim in case of success."

Randir Greymantle wants to explore the planes. Are you fool enough to join him?

  14. Apprentice illusionists originally created the Shrieking Pouch to identify pickpockets. Nowadays they see more use as practical jokes, much to the chagrin of everyone in the bar when a hooligan intentionally leaves one behind.

  15. I'm a fan of funky low-power magic items, so today I wrote up a Divining Dirk. It isn't even a +1 dagger, but it can point to the closest emerald (or fresh water, bone, or whatever thing it's enchanted to find) whenever you flip it in the air and let it fall.

  16. Today's inspiration comes from @aedis who yesterday told me about misreading the Mist Rapier's effect as summoning a "frog cloud". The rest, as they say, is history.

The Frog Lily takes an hour in water to summon frogs, but once they fully gather they lay waste the area, preventing movement, raising enough ruckus to screw up spells with verbal components, and possibly poisoning anyone in their midst.

  17. A little late-day inspiration led me to writing up the Mist Rapier, a +1 sword that glows purple and exudes fog. Everyone could use a little bit of spice with "just" a +1 weapon, and maybe I want an excuse to grant advantage on the first attack in a combat.

  18. Squeaking in under the wire today, the dwarven royal family jealously guards the secret to creating Platinum Geodes. Loyal clans receive them as royal gifts to protect their leaders with potent abjuration.

  19. Here's the last Orichalcum magic item, at least for now. Bastion Helms provide mental protection in a 10 foot radius and further protection for the wearer in a shiny metal piece of kit.

  20. The Dagger of Null Magic was originally created by Ionian craftspeople to test applications of Orichalcum. In this case, the alchemists enhanced Orichalcum's anti-magic capabilities and made a weapon for non-magic users to give magic users a bit of a headache.

  21. Here's my world's version of Orichalcum. It doesn't occur in nature, but once synthesized it blocks or absorbs magic. It's painted onto a Scutum Solaris before other alchemical processes stabilize its properties.

  22. The Penny Chestnut sits in the heart of the city, a gift from a far-off empire. Legend says that the first harvest of chestnuts contained 16 pennies, one for each level of the city. People took this as an omen of prosperity, and still do today.

For the first time in over 2 months, I wrote something for Fellport. GO ME!

  23. I took some time this morning and updated the Fellport Index with the entries from the past 3 weeks.

Apparently I'm still going strong after 50 daily entries. I just need to get a little bit ahead and fill the hopper to absorb the inevitable setbacks.
