So play continued, but working from a built world definitely slowed things down for me, along with life and work distractions. (For me games are faster when I just have the world created as I play.) But the thrill of your game exciting you, making you imagine all the possibilities is super awesome.
54 pages of drawings and notes so far, an ending full of possibilities, and excitement to try new game techniques.

This is where an issue arrives using the #city23jan entries, I play on the go and traveling with an extra sketchbook of drawings can really make my messenger bag heavy. Paper be heavy.
I printed a page thumbnails and a map of where everything was in the City of 'BellStorm', but referencing the details was lacking. Loading them on my phone is distracting.
I also chose to not re-draw the locations again.

...the campaign continued with my usual random tables of scene prompts and progress tracking and stuff.
'Mark' had a run-in with a large delivery man, got forced to help with a delivery to the richest person in the city, use trickery and discovered mystery. All the while he has a reservation to a fancy restaurant, the reason for his vacation.

After setting up my #sketchbooksolorpg journal, I establish the reason my character was in the city with custom tables (on vacation, first time visitor) I also rolled for a location and got a building with multiple businesses. I rolled to pick which business the character was visiting and it ended up being one that was just "business".
Mark now was visiting a friend who maybe was a bit shady.

Just finished the first 'chapter' of my current #sketchbooksolorpg game and wanted to reflect on the experience. (#city23jan)
In Jan I did one month of the #city23 #dailydrawings challenge. In Feb I set-up my sketchbook and made a character based on a random location.
I played 'Mark Raker' a middle age man who is a bit of a trickster. He's on vacation in the city of 'Bellstorm' with one goal, to try the famous sea food at a well known restaurant.

No.27 - "Hillport inc." is a series of offices in a building owned by Fredcin Hillport (see #21) as part of his huge infrastructure he controls. Hillport has an office in to top of 4 floors, but no one has seen it used for a long time. There is also an accountant, seamstress, maps and plans and a "business."

No.22- The everything store. It's decorated for an upcoming holiday. A place to get groceries, basics, books, candies and news. It is next to meeting area were a fire pit keeps residents warm as they discuss the news of the day.

No.16-- The embassy of a warm and sunny costal kingdom, the same one Lady Solara comes from. The embassy is to market, promote and make trading partners. Some question if the kingdom is here to exploit the amazing sea life and send it back home.

No.14 a -- Mermaid Town is a place where you can find anything. It's an area of casinos, theaters, clubs, backrooms, pleasure dens, dark alleys, fancy restaurants, greasy spoons and a night market. The iconic wood cutout of the mermaid casino with it's glistening hair is iconic and gives the area it's name.

No.12 -- The Consortium Processing Center is a large secured structure that is topped with 4 smoke stacks that feature symbols of the four members and a painting of their fish faced deity. Walls and no-windows keep everything secretive as the plant runs 24 hours a day. Who runs it?

No. 5 --The "bell witch" is an women who lives above the family "treasures" shop run by her son. She's pining for her husband who vanished after her son was born. The house and business have bells with the hope their ringing will bring her husband home. Business is slow, but great place for the brave child or curious tourist to visit.

No. 4 --Order of the Star of Stone is a mysterious religion (cult?) with rumors of it being made up of the powerful and wealthy. The doors are never open to the public and scary masked guards make sure no one can even breath on the building.

No. 1 -- Town Center. A landmark: Roddy's Golden Scale restaurant. A place everyone knows. A local delicacy, giant caviar from giant fish. The top floor, the sunset room, for fancy folks, and the lower floors are for everyone else. They have expanded to hotel rooms. There is a door in the back that would be perfect to sneak in.
