I limited* gaygeek.social for failing to handle their dav1d problem.
Open signup servers are a liability for the whole Fediverse, cause triggers and retraumatizations through toxic trolls, cause stress and burnout for admins and mods on other servers and make no sense outside a capitalist growth mindset.
*unfortunately limiting is a mostly useless feature and therefore more of a symbolic act.

Investigation revealed that the instance is a haven for antisemitic, racist, and homophobic material. They are primarily federated with the "usual suspects;" baraag, poa(dot)st and stuffs, and lack meqningfum moderation.
Given the bigotry, source of participants, and lack of moderation, we believe defederation is warranted at this time.

Hey moderators of Mastodon... is there a way to import a list of problem users to ban them as a group at the instance lvl? We ask because we see a few very prolific, very obnoxious serial block evaders come up on the reg. It would be great to create a shareable list to allow mods to ban them with a click.
