  1. There’s a special place in Hell reserved for clothing designers/companies that show very oversized clothes on the runway but eschew creating for and stocking actual plus sizes.

  6. WTF is the deal with designer brands like #FreePeople and #Rundholz and #Moyuru that size their clothing S-XL but sell lots of VERY #oversized pieces that might fit someone #PlusSized based on measurements (assuming they provide them)?

Is it just a stubborn refusal to be categorized as a purveyor of #Fatshion?

While I’m bitching, if you sell new or used clothing (#Poshers, I’m looking at you now) and don’t include the pieces’ measurements, why the hell not?

    P.S. #OneSizeFitsSOME.

  7. Let’s talk about #DescriptiveLanguage:

FAT is a descriptive adjective & noun.

OVERWEIGHT includes a negative judgment. We don’t say “He’s OVERHEIGHT.”

OBESE is a medical term—and a pathologizing label. It has a history & its parameters have changed over time.

All of these words may be used or understood as epithets.

The terms #FatAcceptance, #Fatshion, #FatPolitics, #FatLiberation, etc. reclaim the word as neutral while highlighting that it’s not a neutral thing to be fat in this world.
