Police impersonations seem to be a surfacing concern.
Here’s a CBC story following up on an incident in North Vancouver last March where a person falsely claimed to be an RCMP officer was pulling aside traffic.
‘If you are still uncertain about the legitimacy of a stop, police recommend calling 911 immediately and expressing your concerns.
"The dispatcher can verify if an officer is conducting a traffic stop in your area.… Genuine officers will understand and support your caution," reads the release.’
