Eindelijk. Per 1/1/2026 is het eindelijk gedaan met gefriemel op een scherm om je auto te bedienen. #EuroNCAP gaat sterrren afpakken als essentiële functies niet op de juiste plaats te vinden zijn. Nu nog een verlichte geest die voor de verwarming ook knoppen voorziet en we zijn er… Weg met de schermen omdat het goedkoper is om te produceren…

@philipdutre @TomDB Ik vergelijk die #pisa met de #EuroNCAP bij auto’s. Fabrikanten doen hun stinkende best om 5* te scoren en verliezen mijn inziens de rest van de auto uit het oog. Idem in ons onderwijs: verpletterende druk op de leerlingen om STEM scores te halen om u tegen te zeggen. Maar wat met het stimuleren van creativiteit, empathie (EQ), maatschappelijk bewustzijn, et alia? IQ is belangrijk en kan goede #pisa opleveren, maar wat met de rest van het cohort?

#NCAP, as you and I have discussed before at length, has been a prime party in inappropriately expanding the scope, reliability and applicability of their AEB assessments.

All in the interests of providing cover for disinterested auto safety regulators.

#EuroNCAP has **VERY** simplistic AEB assessments that involve child-sized mannequins, by design.

Politicians, if they even need a basis, are going to point to those assessments as a "quick fix".

@EricPaulDennis @CrackedWindscreen It reads like #EuroNCAP just drew from industry talking points… which they did.

If EuroNCAP has a safety case established such that it fundamentally changes the control relationship between the human driver and the automated system in a Level 2-capable vehicle… then they should present it.

But I already know they do not have it.

#EuroNCAP actually (and uniquely), in my view, **pretends** that it is serving such a regulatory function - and that is extremely dangerous to do that.

The public is being misled.
