#Vocabulary selection is important. Sometimes, a change of #terminology is idiotic at best. For example, we abolished #homelessness, now we only have #unhoused. Sorry, WTF? Changing from prostitute to sex-worker, that makes sense, as prostitution has always been tied to bad morals and judgement. Here using the slur argument has merit. I've not really been convinced with the r-word, but for those called such derogitorially, for them the change was #empowering, so I'm happy to run with it. /1

This Friday I joined a #climate #strike in #zurich ! We protested against expanding a motorway around the Swiss city of #solothurn .
Expanding the motorway would lead to much higher resources use, #emissions and pollutants, which is bad for the climate and our #health 😷. Much better would be to put the money on public transport instead! 🚍📢 Along the way we shouted things like "Whose future? Our future!", which felt very #empowering. Together we are strong! 💪 Together we can make a change!

Was it 100 clicks to switch off most LinkedIn notifications—in and out of each group and subgroup, plus the actual toggle?
This is disingenuous #design – pretending to be #transparent and #empowering. In fact, this design makes it a 5-minute #chore to set Linkedin to only tell me when a contact messages me, nothing else.
I can see the need to group the settings. That could be done with labels and a few horizontal lines, and all the toggles on one long page.
