Pictures at an Exhibition performed live by Emerson, Lake & Palmer was the album that brought me back to classical music at about age 15.

Written for the #piano, it was famously orchestrated by #Ravel. I've heard it performed once and have several versions on mp3. Perennial favorite! 👍

At the top level it is Mussorgsky's emotional journey as he walks around an exhibition of artwork by his recently deceased friend Viktor Hartmann. But there are captions for most/all of the works, so it is also a recursive tale with stories within stories. 🙂

Some of the original art is lost, so the musical renditions are all we have left. 🙁

Today is the 10-year anniversary of keyboardist Keith Emerson's death. I consider myself lucky to have seen ELP at Selland Arena in Fresno when they were touring Brain Salad Surgery.

While many protégée kids can knock out Vivaldi at 8YO, Emerson could slay on his Hammond organ with his left hand and simultaneously blow the entire world's musical minds on his Moog synthesizer with his right hand. His skills were SUPERHUMAN!

His gravesite in Lancing, West Sussex, England.

Now that I’ve again got a working cassette player, I’ve been listening to Emerson, Lake & Palmer #ELP Works, from 1977. At the time, I don’t think I appreciated they were a ‘super group’ - from #TheNice, #KingCrimson & #AtomicRooster.

Yesterday, I lost a valued follow (@ai6yr) because they apparently had a hard line "mute all '#UFO consipiracy theory folks'.

Its a shame because I thought we had a reasonably good exchange of ideas.

All for daring to suggest, that the #Elpasoairport, Temporary Flight Restrictions were LIKELY another instance of the "#drones" that have been defeating Airdefence and Airport security all around the world for the last 5 years.

I understand that the concept of another species being here is terrifying to most folks. To the point that there are outright hostile to anyone offering an alternative view to the offical silence.

So far it looks like I was justified, not because I had special inside knowledge, but the MO is identical with all the other #UAP interacting with Airport facilities...

Ooooookaaaaaay, so remember when I said that I was going to do #FNF mod versions of popular songs?

Well, I kept delaying it due to the fact that my laptop keeps lagging horribly these days, and me having to work overtime more nowadays. Plus I've actually never developed or modded a full fledged game before, at all.

But I actually did the song - well, a modification of an existing remix of #Tarkus by Al Ferox (at least the Eruption part of it, anyway). With Boyfriend and Dave (FNFvs.D&B) vocals.

I'm not releasing it as a video mostly because of the way my laptop can be laggy while video editing (which is why most of my videos tend to have static images, but I've been doing visualizers so far), so I'm releasing it here exclusively on #Mastodon (sunny.garden).
