Last night I finally realized my almost life-long dream of seeing Robert Plant live. Alison Krauss was fabulous on vocals and fiddle, and I enjoyed songs from their two albums as well as some Led Zeppelin classics. #yeg #efmf #efmf2024 #robertplant #alisonkrauss

Dang, definitely feeling Edmonton Folk #Music Festival exhaustion aftershocks over here. Sure glad I did all that #cycling training for the 2024 #TourAlbertaForCancer because that fitness sure came in handy while #dancing my ass off to Krauss and Plant! See ya next year my fellow folkies! #efmf2024

One of best decisions the Edmonton Folk Festival made was the move to license the entire site rather than have a beer tent. In years past there would have been a half hour line to get in and once people were reticent to leave. Today there is barely a line at all although they do have a maze for when the line builds later. Even then the worse I’ve seen is a 15 minute wait.

I think I’ve seen Blue Rodeo every summer since bands started touring again. Still not tired of them.

My kids have cooler jobs than I ever did. Given they’ve only missed two folk fests since they were conceived it’s fitting they’re performers here now.
(This is only one of my two stiltwalking progeny)

Hanging out in the shade by stage 1. My parents were here early and fetched me a beer to go with my sandwiches so I didn’t wait in the giant line in the sun. Now to see if either of my stilt walking kids wanders by.
