Il 23 novembre 1924 viene annunciato al mondo che la Galassia non è l'Universo, ma che ci sono tante altre galassie separate dalla nostra. Quelle che sembravano semplici nebulose in realtà si rivelarono agglomerati di stelle proprio come la Via Lattea. It’s kinda blowing my mind 🤯 that 100 years ago, astronomers weren’t 100% sure that galaxies as such existed until #EdwinHubble proved between 1923 and 1924 that the #AndromedaGalaxy was one and that it was far outside the #MilkyWay 🌌🔭 and not just a nebula.
