Detailed review of PaidViewpoint

This is a blog post going over the benefits and drawbacks of PaidViewpoint, a site that pays users to fill out surveys for brands on topics like specific products and efficacy of advertisements.

First, my name is Azure. I use they/them pronouns. I am part of a plural system, which means multiple people in one bodymind. We share this blog and live in the US. We are disabled and unable to do traditional work – we even had to put our very small, low-demand online knitted items shop on hiatus recently. We receive 36 hours of caregiving per week and it is not enough, which I think is the best one-sentence way to convey our severity of disability.

I am writing this blog post as a follow-up to my blog post Best “Get Paid To” Sites, an overview of many sites that pay users to fill out surveys and do various other tasks. A few days ago, I wrote a review of Connect Cloud Research, my favorite survey site on the list. Now I’m moving on to PaidViewpoint, my next favorite.

PaidViewpoint pays pretty well for a survey site. For example, a while back I noticed that I filled out a 3-minute survey (advertised as 7 minutes long – I’m fast) for $0.50. So I earned $10/hour for that survey! The pay rates vary – I think that one was especially good – but generally I consider them worth my time.

For reference, federal minimum wage in the US is $7.25, and I tend to earn $1/hour doing surveys on Swagbucks, $3/hour on Branded Surveys, and $5/hour on Maholla. (more details on those platforms + optional referral links with bonuses for both of us: see this blog post)

I also really like that PaidViewpoint has no disqualifications (sort of). If you’re not a match for a survey, it’ll send you to answer a few demographic questions to fill out your profile instead, and you’ll still earn $0.10. This is not as nice a setup as Connect Cloud Research, but still removes the frustration of not qualifying. And I would say these semi-disqualifications are less common than getting surveys I qualify for, though I haven’t been counting.

And I like that it’s inclusive of nonbinary people! I could be forgetting, but I don’t think it’s ever required me to choose between “male” and “female”. My gender is listed as “non-binary/other” and I’m a big fan of that.

Its email notifications also actually work (sort of). It doesn’t notify me for every new survey, but it notifies me for many of them. That’s helpful!

Another bonus for some people is that they have an app. It works great! It’s really an app, not a website shoved into an app package. Disclaimer: I haven’t used it much, because I prefer to do surveys on my computer.

Now, the downsides.

Unfortunately, the surveys are not super frequent. Even less frequent than Connect Cloud Research. I earned between $1 and $3 each day this week. So not a high earner – you’ll want to combine it with other survey sites if you’re looking for more money than that.

It has a more corporate feel and generally has marketing surveys. If you dislike helping or interacting with brands, you might not like this one. They ask weird questions, like how masculine or feminine a brand is. However, the topics are much less sensitive than some of Connect’s – I don’t think this one has asked me about my trauma!

Its payout threshold is $15 for new members. I’m currently at the point where I can cash out at the lowest amount they allow, $5, but they require you to answer a lot of surveys before you can do that. $15 isn’t so bad it’s scammy or anything, but it’s not ideal.

I do not remember if PaidViewpoint required ID verification when I cashed out. I’m leaning toward no, but I’m not sure.

My headmates and I have earned $32.52 so far on Connect as of September 19 2025, with $0.49 of that still in our account to cash out later. Every single payment we request goes through within a couple days (through PayPal, but there’s an option for bank transfers with a $25 payout threshold instead of $5). Apparently they manually review payouts, but we haven’t had a problem.

PaidViewpoint’s FAQ says it’s available in 50 countries around the world. It does not specify which countries. Since I’m in the US, I know it’s available there. If you sign up outside the US and it goes through, please feel free to comment with confirmation that your country is on the list!

Detailed review of Connect Cloud Research

This is a blog post going over the benefits and drawbacks of Connect Cloud Research, a site that pays users to fill out (mostly) academic surveys on topics like world events and choices within a scenario.

I am writing this blog post as a follow-up to my blog post Best “Get Paid To” Sites, an overview of many sites that pay users to fill out surveys and do various other tasks. Connect Cloud Research is by far my favorite of the sites I listed, so I’m writing a more detailed review of it. I hope that I can write detailed reviews of the others as well, but Connect is first.

Connect Cloud Research requires researchers to pay users at least $7.50 per hour to complete surveys, tracked by the minute. For example, I just completed a study that paid $0.50 for 4 minutes, which Connect displays as $10.29 per hour (possibly because I completed it more quickly than expected). That is pretty normal for Connect, both in terms of pay and length. It is rare to see a survey over 7 minutes on this site.

$7.50 or more per hour is pretty great for a survey site! My other favorite thing about Connect is that there are no disqualifications. The way it works is you fill out a detailed profile by answering many questions at the beginning, and the site matches you with surveys based on that information. Occasionally, there will be a survey that breaks the rules, but it is not common and they’re usually clearly marked as “only for XYZ demographic”. There are also surveys that spit you out partway through, but you still get paid for the time you spent on the survey, with seemingly a minimum of $0.25 per survey. This is great! I hate disqualifications on other survey sites. They’re so frustrating.

I also like that it is mostly academic surveys (which feels less yucky than helping a brand) and that the payout minimum is $5. That’s nice. We tend to cash out as soon as we can so we don’t have money sitting in their site, though they do seem very legitimate. Still, they’re not a bank.

One thing that should be noted is that they often have surveys on sensitive topics. You may be asked about current events, your opinions on marginalized people’s rights, or your trauma. I think the political ones are usually labeled well enough to skip the whole category, and if you get into a survey and decide you don’t want to take it anymore for any reason, you can “return” it (stop, mark it as returned, and not get paid) with no consequences that I’m aware of.

Now, onto the clear downsides.

My biggest struggle with Connect is that there are not many surveys available throughout the day, and they do not automatically notify you about most of the surveys. (Occasionally they’ll notify you about one that just opened, but their emails as well as the browser notifications do not really work. I’ve received maybe 3 browser notifications and 10 email notifications ever.)

This makes it hard to earn money from them! $5/day is a good weekday for me. $3/day is a good weekend day.

What I’ve started doing is placing browser windows side by side on my computer. (Of course, this won’t work if you’re mobile only or not usually on a computer.) I am visually reminded to keep manually refreshing the page as I do other activities online. I make the Connect window as small as possible, which is about 2/5 of my screen.

This seems to be working fine, but it’s only been a few days.

Another struggle some people might experience is being rejected for the site. I have obviously not experienced this, but I’ve seen people talking about it online. If this happens, I’m sorry! I do still think it’s worth trying if you have some spare time.

I should also note that Connect requires ID verification. If that’s a problem for you, you shouldn’t apply.

Finally, there is no app that I’m aware of. It is not optimized for mobile, and some studies require a computer. However, it is possible to complete studies without those requirements in a mobile browser. I sometimes do that when I’m just waking up and haven’t gotten my computer out yet. I even once did a study that required me to switch to mobile.

My headmates and I have earned $144.06 so far on Connect as of September 17 2025, plus $7.39 in our account to request tonight (they allow one payment every 24 hours) and $14.67 pending for researchers to approve (we’ve had like 1 rejection ever).

Every single payment we request goes through immediately (through PayPal, but there’s an option for bank transfers with a $25 payout threshold instead of $5).
