Looks like the time to be overrun with eggs has begun. Our whole flock is back on the job this morning, and all 4 ducks have laid an egg. Giving us our first 4 egg day of the season.

Went for a walk today with @slomo and said hello to our ducky friends. It was sunny and warm, despite it being late November already.

I live with constant worry these days ... I'm worried that the ducks are laying somewhere strange or burying their eggs again.
A couple of weeks ago, I uncovered 17 duck eggs buried under the straw and shavings in the coop. All the eggs passed the float test, but what if I hadn't found them in time and they went bad and then broke? Yuck!
Nobody warned me ducks would be such weirdos.

This is our first year with ducks. We got a couple runner ducks. They're super cute and interesting characters. I've learned a couple of things so far:
1) The females are really noisy. I read somewhere that runner ducks are quiet. These two are definitely not quiet.
2) They bury their eggs?! Today, I uncovered a clutch of 17 eggs buried under the straw bedding. I just kept digging and pulling out more. I'm a little anxious that they'll bury some and then they'll all go bad. Definitely more of a possibility in summer when it gets hot in the coop.
