So #Google is killing my #DropCam and offering to give me a free camera with less software functionality than one I bought more than five years ago.

Time to look into switching to non cloud based video for my cameras.

The worst thing that happened for #Nest was Google buying it.

Kudos to #Google’s #Nest division for bucking corporate and giving a 1 year, proactive end-of-life announcement for original #DropCam!

Much better than Google’s usual retroactive, “oh, hey, we dropped support yesterday, sry” announcements.
