¡Cuba Libre!
(Not quite how I feel about that name in 2026, but it's from 1898 I suppose)60 mL Havana Club Especial #Rum
120 mL Coca cola (cane sugar sweetened; made in USA - not sure where)
Lime juice from wedge.Must say this is a stiffer drink than I typically make (I like it!) - but given the rum I went with Havana Club proportions.

Opening up some of my #Mexico bottle haul!
Picked up the Nixta and it has terrific long flavor - but rather sweet up front (I can see why old fashioneds with it in lieu of sugar would be great).Tried the Palabra Caliente* #cocktail (skipped the 🍒) also with the Ancho liqueuer. Hmm this is good but less corn forward (and too much ancho but not as spicy) as I thought it would be. Used the last of my Vega elote #mezcal (Espadin) for it.

Felt extra fancy and well fed after earlyish dinner so...
Chocolate infused #Mezcal #Negroni (Carpano, campari) with garam masala smoke
A damn fine drink, if I say so myself(Smoke was just me being fancypantsy - and quickly reminded me why that silly smoking gun sees so little use)

Mundo Perdido #Tiki #Coctail
Beachbum Berry/Smugglers Cove.
Made the cinnamon syrup for it yesterday - this tastes like an amped up apple cider (not too but distinctly apple-y). Broke out Hamilton 86 Demerara #Rum for this (first bottle I've had - I had, have the 151 on hand more).

Chupa Chups Sparkling Cherry Bubble Gum
I like how it tastes like cherry bubble gum rather than just normal bubble gum so it isn’t too sweet.

Been making tea from Lemon Balm/Melissa leaves and chilling it in the fridge in old-style bottles. It’s amazing, and the lemongrassy zing makes it such a good mixing drink with anything else.

My #forage bag runneth over!
With the last batch, I put down some nocino/nocello, but these are a week later, and the black walnuts (there are both black and English walnuts in the first pic) were already starting to form shells, and now you can see the green pith starting to shrink and show the shell outlines.
The next images are the nocino/nocello when it first went in [2]; two hours later [3]; and today.
Black walnuts make for a super dark liqueur.

Gott im Himmel, das ist gut!Stroh is nothing short of magical, clocking in at 160 proof and tasting like pure butterscotch. In the Von Tiki, it gets combined with delicious Bärenjäger and (in this case) El Dorado 3 Year to make what might just be my new favorite short drink. Próst!
