Tobala & tonic!
Ah so utterly refreshing and idk comforting in a way
I try and limit #mezcal #cocktails and this is a single varietal too - but for whatever reason tobala (and nothing else I've tried) works with tonic - cuts through the sweetness with an earthy flourish!
1½ oz Montelobos tobala ; ~4 oz tonic (Schweppes)

Much better this #Mezcal Old Fashioned
with just ¼ oz of the Ancho Reyes (can go lower even)
Moodeled on this Elote Old Fashioned - but with the Ancho instead of the elote sous vide in the mezcal. Skipped the agave nectar - Nixta is plenty sweet, the saline is needed.

Opening up some of my #Mexico bottle haul!
Picked up the Nixta and it has terrific long flavor - but rather sweet up front (I can see why old fashioneds with it in lieu of sugar would be great).

Tried the Palabra Caliente* #cocktail (skipped the 🍒) also with the Ancho liqueuer. Hmm this is good but less corn forward (and too much ancho but not as spicy) as I thought it would be. Used the last of my Vega elote #mezcal (Espadin) for it.

#Mezcal last word ftw
(With 3 drops of luxardo marascino cherry syrup and a ½ tsp of agave nectar - after it felt a little too tart and bracing)

Hmm the pineapple infused mezcal mentioned here seems interesting to have around ( cc @APBBlue )

This is turning out to be in my top 3 easily, even more so as I have it prebatched. Just need to stir well with ice to dilute a bit, splash of bitters, then pour into the cold glass.
Cacao nib infused* #mezcal negroni
(with campari and Carpano antica vermouth; 1 part each)

*1:1 Mix of 8 hr (overnight) infused at cool ambient room temp and 90 min infused at 65 ⁰C; 10% cacao nibs by weight per volume of mezcal (Espadin)

Chocolate infused #Mezcal #Negroni (Carpano, campari) with garam masala smoke
A damn fine drink, if I say so myself

(Smoke was just me being fancypantsy - and quickly reminded me why that silly smoking gun sees so little use)
