#doublebarredfinch — Public Fediverse posts

There was a report in the local paper about Plum-headed Finches being seen in the Samford Conservation Area (on the 20th May). Only 4 birds were recorded, and it's been 11 days since then, but I went down to take a peek anyway.

I didn't find any, but I did find a fair number of Double-barred Finches, some Red-Browed Finches, and a Chestnut-breasted Mannikin.

Down at the Samford Conservation Area yesterday, there were flocks of Red-Browed Finches and Double-Barred Finches taking advantage of of the seeding grass.

This Red-Browed appears to be a juvenile and has not developed the full brow colouring yet.
