Thinking of #DericLongden the films of those two books are on YouTube. Both deal with #health issues - undiagnosed #ME (perhaps, they never knew for sure) and #stroke. Nudity in the first one (Julie Walters’ chest, nothing alarming 😏

#WordWeavers Sept 30. What author, from any time, would you want as a mentor?
My first thought was Terry Pratchett cos he seemed a lovely man. Tbh, I haven’t read a lot, but those I finished, I liked, My obscure favourite, though, also departed, dear #DericLongden. Often mistaken for Bernard Cribbins. Wrote about mum, wives, ME and cats, in books, and more for the radio. Two books were made into films, he was played by #PetePostlethwaite and #JimBroadbent, with #JulieWalters and #ThoraHird.
