Chatting with someone who disagreed about #immigration or #gunControl slightly reduced #polarization, but only for members of one of the two major U.S. political parties.
Chat-induced #depolarization was 0.38 standard deviations among the 704 #Republicans (p = 0.007), but just 0.09 standard deviations for the 715 #Democrats (p = 0.48).
