Liegt meine positive Überraschung nun daran, dass der WDR schon lange ein Opfer meiner persönlichen Mediendiät war? Entscheiden Sie selbst.

Online hatte ich den WDR weitgehend verlassen, weil er sich besonders servil vor den 3-4 NRW-Verlagsmilliardär*inn*en in den Staub geworfen, und frühere Textangebote vernichtet hatte. Nun hat er seine Homepage optisch aufgeräumt, und findet vor meinen Augen Gnade.

Besoonders schmerzhaft für die 3-4 Milliardär*inn*e*n, die ja seit Jahrzehnten mit der Vernichtung lokaler Pressevielfalt beschäftigt sind, könnte sich die freundliche Benutzerführung zu den Lokalangeboten erweisen. Die “WDR-Lokalzeit” im linearen TV ist schon lange tägliche Einschaltquotensiegerin und dürfte die Abonnent*inn*enzahlen der runtergesparten lokalen Monopolblätter locker übertreffen. Und nun finde ich mit wenigen Klicks von der Startseite ins Regionale und Lokale. Journalismus ist dort nur sparsam eingesetzt, es überwiegen Nachrichten. Aber ehrlich: brauchen Sie mehr? Die kritischen Gedanken mache ich mir sowieso selber.

Unappetitlich war mir kürzlich schon die willkürliche geradezu propagandistische Bezeichnung für eine NRW-Landesministerin aufgefallen. Das setzte sich heute fort. Ein angebliches “Verteidigungsministerium” der USA habe die Absicht verkündet, Soldaten abzuziehen. Tatsächlich handelt es sich um dieses “Department of War”. Das werden Sie sich selbst mit geringsten Englischkenntnissen selbst übersetzen können.

Während sonst jeder Propaganda-Furz des Trump-Regimes auch von deutschen Medien in die Welt verbreitet wird, schaffen sie es nicht, offizielle Bezeichnungen adäquat zu übersetzen? Das ist selbst ein Propagandafurz.

Was das Ministerium, um das es hier geht, tatsächlich tut, hatte schon vor seiner trumpschen Umbenennung nichts mit “Verteidigung” zu tun, aber viel mit Verrat an den Grund- und Menschenrechten der eigenen Staatsverfassung.

Vorschlag für die nächste Transferperiode

Karim El-Gawhary weiss, was ich meine. Sein Korrespondentenjob für den österreichischen ORF, bei dem es seit Monaten drunter und drüber geht (sexuelle Gewalt von Vorgesetzten, Druck von Rechts, ÖVP und FPÖ würden den Laden am liebsten plattmachen), soll in einem Monat “auslaufen”. Er hätte also mehr Zeit, und hat bereits Jobs für die ARD gemacht. Mein Vorschlag: abwerben, den Mann. Warum? Lesen Sie mal das:

Der könnte stattdessen Österreich-Korrespondent machen – die Lebensqualität in Wien soll sehr hoch sein, und mglw. sogar Hamburg übertreffen.

My mom taught for & retired from DoDDS in Germany.

That stands for Department of Defense Dependent Schools. Her students were kids of US military members stationed in the Darmstadt & Wiesbaden areas.

So...now that the DOD has been renamed...shouldn't the department overseeing these schools all over the world also be renamed?
