I had this rough in the my watercolor sketchbook for about a year now. Decided it was finally time to paint it.

"The Death of Superman" story arc was the first time as a comic nerd that I can recall broadcast news covering a comic book story. It was a huge event at the time. I've drawn Superman a lot, but this is my first Lois Lane. Lois in mourning.

The background purple and gold are metallic but unfortunately metallics don't scan well.
