Back when I started school in 2016, I was reading the #HonorHarrington novels from #DavidWeber and had to stop to focus on my classes. I finished school almost a year ago now and decided I need to get to reading those again, so I looked at the #BAEN website and found that there was only one novel left. I was almost finished when I stopped and didn't even realize it!
Anyway, it just arrived today and I can't wait to get into it. Problem is, I don't really remember what was going on in the story now. I thought of just skimming through the previous novel to try to get some idea, or even just starting over and reading all 14 novels straight through. As much as those options appeal to me, I may just dive into this last one and hope there is enough material to bring me up to speed on past events.
After I finish this series, there are a lot of other novels set in the same universe that I haven't even touched yet, and other completely different novels from Weber in collaboration with other authors that I want to get into also.
I was reading some #PeterHamilton too, so I need to see what he's published since 2016 and start in on those as well. But first, Weber.
It's going to be nice to start reading again after all these years. -
So I'm reading #KingsFall by @EvanCurrie . About 56% into the book and I find myself pondering #ChekhovsGun. Especially the consequences of I don't want to put this down.

@PaulRich see.. that's where I have a problem. I'm a huge fan of #HonorHarrington by #DavidWeber and he's totally changed how I see space battles. Ships should be so far apart you couldn't see them with just your eyes. Missiles taking a long time to reach you. Sort of like modern sea battles, I guess. and, based on Ender's game (books) - at least 1 ship should be upside down! 😃 ha! I love geeking out. But this is such a beautiful pic.. what is the background?
