AP reports that a jury in San Francisco has convicted David DePape, who attacked Nancy Pelosi's husband Paul with a hammer. He has been found guilty of attempted kidnapping of a federal official and assault on the immediate family member of a federal official. He faces up to 50 years in prison.

Shortly after footage was released, #DavidDePape phoned in to the KTVU newsroom from jail. In the chilling call, DePape boasted about his actions during the attack, and expressed the wish that he would have "been more prepared."
"Now that you all have seen the body cam footage, I have an important message for everyone in America," DePape said in the call. "You're welcome."
