The 2025 event will look a little different from previous years, with a renewed focus on inclusivity, creativity, and local voices. But the goal is the same: to celebrate Belfast’s diverse culture, support our arts sector, and breathe life back into the city centre.

It was Green Party Councillor Áine Groogan who kickstarted this process, securing funding for a scoping exercise to consult with artists, venues, and the wider cultural sector. That work is now complete – and Belfast City Council has backed the return.

Culture Night was last held in 2019, attracting over 100,000 people and turning the city centre into a vibrant celebration of arts, music, theatre, and community. It was one of the biggest nights in Belfast’s cultural calendar – and we’ve fought to make sure it returns.

Culture Night is coming back to Belfast – and it’s thanks to the Greens!
We’re delighted to share that after a Green Party proposal, Belfast City Council has voted to bring back Culture Night in 2025 – with £150,000 secured through this year’s rates setting process.
