CPOSC is a really excellent, welcoming community! I love small, local conferences. They just have that community vibe that's disappeared almost everywhere but here in the Fediverse.

The great Erica Windisch presenting on "The Vibe of Agentic Infrastructure" at @cposc #cposc

Stephanie Schwartz did a survey of her community about AI usage by devs to help have a firmer understanding of future curriculum development for compsci and saw a lot of what I see: mixed trust, code review skills becoming more critical, and a need for education around software architecture.

It'll be interesting to see how this progresses in education. #cposc

The demo gods looked favorably upon me, and 22 folks in the audience launched LXC containers in our lab environment during my #cposc talk about dynamic lab environments built with #incus #opentofu and #ansible

About half way through another great #CPOSC in #lancaster #pennsylvania and I got a photo with the C64 in the vintage computer museum. Feeling confident about my live demo later this afternoon!

It begins! Getting a nice hardware tour, including props, that work with Meshtastic from @tswartz07 at #cposc

I had a lot of technical difficulties doing my talk at #cposc yesterday. The main problem was that Keynote put the presenter notes on the projector and the slideshow on my laptop. Getting the swapped was tricky. I couldn’t read the screen from the podium, and I couldn’t find the command that Keynote used to have to swap displays. Even after I got that worked out, it was still difficult doing my talk because the presenter display seemed too small, and of course I still couldn’t see the screen. 1/

@pleia2 I got a little lost going to the #cposc afterparty when the storm hit Lancaster, and I got VERY wet.

Just hallway tracked a conversation went from Linux distribution packaging seamlessly into amateur radio. I really missed these little regional open source events, it's so wonderful to be here 🥰 #cposc

One thing I've learned today is that a lot of the speakers at this year's #cposc have written some portion of their abstract and/or bio and/or slides using ChatGPT. Am I a Luddite for doing all that the old fashioned way like an animal?

Loving Dakine Bledsoe's talk on coding for kids at #CPOSC. I haven't looked at code.org in a while and it really has evolved! Scratch has also come a long way 🐱💻
