I just published the January report for open source software packages for Linux on #IBMZ and #LinuxONE 🐧

The team tested nearly two dozen projects, including doxygen, elastic Logstash, and PHP.

I've got a service called CompInvZ which links into my Db2Z host to find services, then it periodically tries to connect and records the result back to DB2

A friend of mine took it a step further and is using #ISPF to interact with Db2 via #REXX

Если спросить администратора любой системы на х86 сервере в чем их система и как измеряет выполненную работу, то в ответ услышишь "А зачем это надо? Выполняется и хорошо. Чего еще?". A while back I tackled the idea of converting my #budget #spreadsheet to a normal Program.. With reports, transaction processing, and lots of traditional #Banking features I decided to use #RetroComputing #Mainframe tools and languages like #REXX, #VSAM, #IBM S370 a la MVS Tk5, and now #COBOL has joined the project to replace some #x86 (or Z) #Golang preprocessing. Not just any COBOL, #MVT COBOL'68 which lacks MANY modern/OOP/String functionality as they're commonly known.. Hello PIC X OCCURS!

@Sheep_Overboard I am going to have to object. I work for mainframes, and our host code is 98% COBOL, it's very fast and reliable. A lot faster than Java, C, C++ etc. According to a 2022 study there are 800 billion lines of COBOL in use on a regular basis. I admit, I write z/OS assembler, and am a bit biased, but COBOL is still incredibly popular.
