We are putting out a 2nd round of calls for reviewers and authors to contribute to the #IEEE CiSE Special Issue on #ConvergedComputing! https://computer.org/digital-library/magazines/cs/cfp-converged-computing. It's paramount that we map out this space, exploring the intersection between cloud + #HPC.

Imagining (and starting to build) a future where we can have better control of our cloud choices and costs! These ideas are just a tiny part of a larger vision for #ConvergedComputing and one I hope you can get around too!

Think of it as a step on a ladder between #HPC and cloud native, what we are calling #ConvergedComputing:

1⃣ Running on #HPC
2⃣ Install in single container
3⃣ Local container orchestration with services
4⃣ Run in Kubernetes

Guess what? I think @FluxFramework
can get us there!

@james @kelseyhightower It’s a work in progress - many cool workflows being ported now from #HPC (LAMMPS, AMG, etc.) to biosciences with #snakemake and #nextflow! Hopefully I will be able to speak about the work at #KubeCon. 😊 Spread the word - this is called #ConvergedComputing. 🎉
