  1. Worked up my courage to work on the 8050 again tonight. The video shows a pretty stable, albeit slightly slow drive mech. The center ring should be perfectly stable. It is drifting ever so slightly clockwise. However my potentiometer is already maxed out. This is probably the old motor giving everything. :)
I can lower the resistor feeding into the pot a bit. That should give more current to the motor.

  6. One of the most powerful 8-bit multi processing computers that Commodore ever built in the 1980s. Oh, what's that? It's a floppy drive?? Amazing...
Dual 6502 CPUs in this CBM 8050.

  11. New video: ZoomFloppy+OpenCBM+8050

The main issue with the Commodore 8050 and 8250 drives is: How do you get data onto them? The units use 100tpi floppy drives that are incompatible to the regular 48tpi and 96tpi disk drives used in the 1541 and in PC DD and HD drives.

  21. So I am trying to get some Infocom games running on the PET via the 8050. However the interpreter can’t find the storyfile. I copied all files from the D71 image over. So it looks exactly like the original. Any ideas why it still doesn’t find the file? Original image runs fine using the SD2PET by @futurewas8bit

  26. Very nice are the BASIC V4 command explanations. I didn’t realize V4 had a RENAME command! The older commands via OPEN15,8,15 are also documented.
