Hey, would any professional artist know the answer to this: are there any rules of thumb around payment for artists in anthology for-profit zines/graphic novels/simiar?
Eg, the percentage of profit corresponding to percentage of pages in the zine? (So eg if the artist has 1 page in a 100-page booklet, they get 1% of the profit.)
Or a flat comission rate unlinked to sales? (So eg they get paid £X up front and that's the end of the transaction.)
Or something else?

I woke up today to read that Jackson "Butch" Guice, one of my favorite comic illustrators of the 80s and 90s has died.
I first encountered his work when he came on as regular penciller for my beloved Micronauts.
His style changed and evolved but I will always remember his Micronauts contributions so fondly in the lore of my own life.
