SOMEWHERE ALONG THE TRACK…
Day is almost done we stand where the land meets the water here on Frecinet Peninsula. The sun sinks towards the horizon only to be obscured by a cloud bank, something I should say is not all that uncommon hereabouts. That is the Tasmanian east coast over there across the bay, on the horizon. Somewhere over there is the town of Swansea.
It is now almost half way through the last month of summer and the sun is destined to disappear around 8.30pm. It will be light for some time after that, though. Here in Tasmania at 42°S we have a long summer twilight, the longest day giving us 19 hours and 53 minutes from first to last light.
This is how it is here on the east coast of Australia’s southernmost land mass this late afternoon. The sea calm, the wind mild and gentle, the sun sharing its life-giving warmth, the view wide and uplifting of mind and spirit.#tasmania #frecinetpeninsula #colesbay #seascapes #landscapes #sunsets #hobartandbeyond #photography #landscapephotography

"the enormous difference between the true impression we have had of a thing & the artificial impression we give ourselves of it when we try by an act of will to represent it to ourselves."
