Previously it was mostly used in conjunction with #parsimony/cost-based approaches, but we combined it with #model-based approaches. More specifically with the model-based approach in the program ALE, which was succesfully used by Sattler et al. (2019) to "Inferring processes of #coevolutionary #diversification in a community of Panamanian strangler #figs and associated pollinating #wasps": https://doi.org/10.1111/evo.13809
