My AppleTV always has closed captioning on, with no way to turn it off. There’s no little CC icon to click within the show, and there’s no “Accessibility” option under Settings, as Apple claims. Any other suggestions?

We started watching Star Trek Discovery over again. Tried to watch Season 1 Episode 1 and noticed that the closed captioning is out of sync and way ahead of the audio/video in the main part of the show after the intro. It was in sync during the intro part. Both I and my partner have hearing loss so we rely on it to understand what's going on. It was so bad it made it unwatchable for us. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it a Paramount Plus issue or device related? I don't remember it from the first time we watched.
