    "An often-mentioned ground for the duty to engage in climate activism is the moderate principle of beneficence (Booth, 2012, p. 399; Cripps, 2013, p. 13). This principle, originally formulated by Peter Singer, requires the individual to prevent serious suffering in others, when the individual can do so at less than significant cost to herself (Singer, 1972, p. 231)."
