We started the second day with a good breakfast at the hut and departed at 5:30. It was already so warm I just wore a T-Shirt. We followed the path through the snowfields we had set the day before. At the start of the glacier we mounted the crampons and put on the ropes. There is still enough snow on the glacier so the risk of falling into a crevasse is tiny.
The last ascend up to the summit is quite steep. We decided to climb up with a short rope. After a short break we descended westward a steep rock face which is secured with metal chains, before reaching the lower parts of the west facing glacier. From there we slid down various snow fields and reached the Klausenpass in the early afternoon. There we switched our long trousers with short ones and refilled our energies with cake, fries, cider and coffee before heading back home with the Postauto

Last weekend, a friend needed one more flight hour for renewing his PPL license, and took me along in a Cessna 152. We flew from #LSPV via Mythen, Klausenpass to the Ringelspitz, and back over Walensee. Beautiful!
