  3. RE: piaille.fr/@DMerigoux/11671526

Looking into that and this is very cool! WTB in the us, the book's chapter 3.4 ("Agile development with lawyers and programmers ") is super interesting and have plenty of references

  4. Sometimes you're casually adding new sites to @civicband and you add some city in #Massachusetts you've never heard of and then you've added 5000 more documents to the index 😂

The well of #CivicData is so deep and so wide and we've only started dipping our toes in.

  5. Marin County has posted no minutes for the Board of Supervisors meetings for this whole year.

    Extremely weird.

  6. Continuing our deep dive, it looks like #Washington Township, #Indiana, stopped publishing City Council minutes? Anyone from around there want to investigate for us?

  7. We're digging in to the sites that have fallen out of date, and apparently #BirminghamAL just stopped posting minutes in 2024? Not sure why? Anyone who lives there and wants to help us dig in, reach out!

  9. Hey if you had databases for all the election contributions, including IEs, for every county in California going back to 2010, would that be... useful for you?

    (boosts welcome)

  10. Who would be interested in an archive of the MTA bus GTFS-RT data? It could be used to analyze bus on time performance. #opendata #CivicData #nyc #transit

  11. I made some major changes to the Baltimore City entity reference I shared on here a couple months back.

The Airtable base now lists "assignments" w/ names, agencies, and start/end date for leadership roles airtable.com/app1TxhwkepwEygN7

It has a bunch of missing names + dates but it is a good start on a reference that should exist but doesn't. #Baltimore #bmorehistoric #CivicData #OpenBaltimore

  12. Ariana Mendible is sharing a great talk, "Small Town Police Accountability: A Data Science Toolkit" here at . Her group has created a great package to help researchers parse the output of FOIA (Freedom Of Information Act) requests, using , , and . The library, called SToPA, is available on GitHub: github.com/qsideinstitute/SToPA

  13. Working on a blog series + talk proposal + demo about open data as it relates to ML.

Mastodon data folks + ML folks : what research/blogs/repos do you know?

What excites you about this overlap?

  14. A big thanks to the folks at OpenNorth for not only making a simple API to get the Hansard texts (House of Common debates), but offering a single database dump that lets you query the whole thing yourself.
