  5. Just had an excellent conversation with @arod, who is doing really interesting work exploring and organizing commons-cooperative organization of the provisioning of jazz, and other music. One of those conversations where you leave with so many threads to follow.

  9. Thanks for @edumerco for teaching me the term "hacer rosca" -- a metaphor for developing #cfactor -- a rosca is a threaded connector, like a bolt or nut, so the idea is that we bring people closer through creating a spiral structure or process of engagement - threading. Threaded connections are tighter and more enduring (compared to a nail, for example) and you can back them out without destroying the pieces, but you have to be careful not to damage or strip the threads.

  16. CW: EC

We celebrated Jasmin's birthday in our learning-action circle this morning as we worked over our enterprise idea ( which Jay aptly described as "operationalizing figuring it out"). We are increasingly there for each other.

  19. Lovely morning care-mapping, checking-in, and planning the agenda for our next learning-action circle meeting. Such a friendly, organic, horizontal process. As farmer Dan mentioned in our last meeting, our two "superpowers" are our freedom from institutional agendas and structures and our strong #CFactor Very cool process; I have never experienced anything quite like it. Very thankful for @luisrazeto and his commitment to combining theory and practice.

  23. My friend & collaborator Jay is an excellent popular educator, no flip charts & carefully facilitated activities, just a potluck dinner, a round of grace or gratitude, & a question: who are you & what is your relation to food?

People keep coming back, the food is getting better, the conversations are easy but more vulnerable, people are starting to organize walks, babysitting, & other support. I left last night with three people eager to join me in farm work this summer.

  28. What a morning. I am verklempt and it's only 1:30. Started w/ SC Organizing Circle call, which was warm, good humored, thoughtful and efficient. Then our cooperative learning-action circle meeting: self and group evaluation of Unit 1 and moved ahead in Unit 2 of How to Create a Solidarity Enterprise. So many amazing moments in that mtg. "We have more momentum every time we meet." "The spirit's in this room and it's overwhelming." "Moving slow is annoying but it's very much working."

  31. Really excited to drive down to Canon City to have lunch with my farmer friend who just lost her Dad. We will sit inn that space of grief and love and I will catch her up on co-op learning-action circle activities/discussions she has had to miss. (Why share this? Because we should know these things about each other, the work we do, the small things, the practices that make up our lives and motivate us.)

  35. @luisrazeto's #CFactor is underappreciated, I think.

"In this and other ways, the C Factor reduces the need for the other factors. Inversely, if the C Factor is lacking, its contributions and functions need to be substituted by other factors: a more complex information system, expensive bureaucratic and hierarchical management structures, a greater quantity of materials which will deteriorate and depreciate more quickly, more labor time for a given amount of production, etc."
