My oldest and rarest vintage CD-ROM drive in my collection: an #LMSI CM 221, introduced in 1989 and still using the #CDM3-based "CM 201" drive mechanism from 1986 at its core. Has been cleaned and recapped, of course.
It was also sold by #Philips as the CDD 401.
