I asked the shelter about adopting Maddox.
Why?
He's a good kitty. He lets me be during meditation, and he's not overbearing at night. He does climb onto me from time to time, but he does not start yowling.
He has a non-healing fracture in his left front paw. As far as everybody can tell (including the vets), that's an annoyance to him. He sometimes limp. However, I can hold his paw without him yelping... so... Yep, just an annoyance.
I think this fracture is going to put off people. ("OMG! A broken cat.") He does not jump on my counters, and I think that could be because of this fracture. He has no trouble getting up on the couch or my bed, but the counters are too high.
He's been on the market for a while, and there are no takers. 😦
More importantly, I love Maddox. 😻

Well. I am catless again. ☹️
Noche was a good cat, generally speaking. Except that he was still not neutered and about 1 year old... so... yeah...
He peed twice on my bed. I'm pretty sure it was in close succession, because I would have noticed if it happened on two days.
I evicted him from the bedroom. I thought maybe it would take care of the problem, but today he peed twice on a waterproof blanket I had put on the couch. I knew that's probably where he'd try next.
So I called the shelter and thought perhaps we might discuss Noche, but no. They said bring him back if you cannot keep him. I've been able to contain the pee so far (with some work), but I don't see myself scrambling every day or having him just pee all over the place, so I brought him back to the shelter.
☹️ I hope he gets neutered soon and finds a good family.
(I probably don't need advice on how to take care of cat pee odors. I've done a good job cleaning my bed, and the couch cover.)
