It seems many bounce off of this one, but I had a great time! I didn't love it at first. Now it's one of my favorites so far.

Your UFO will plummet due to gravity so you have to manage your thrust (and remaining fuel) to get to the end of each level (50 in total). You can slash nearby objects and enemies. You die if you touch anything, but extra lives are given every 1000 points. The default controls kind of suck - I had to rebind the controls on the Switch to use the R button since that tight maneuvers manageable.

I hit a wall in the third world until I spent more time focusing on how to navigate each level and finding some hidden coffees in the earlier levels to help stock up on lives.

Great challenge and a reminder to take your time when trying games to give them a fair shot.
