I don't really celebrate the 4th of July anymore. I remember what we once were.
I think we can be so much better than we are right now. I'm worried about how long it will take, and how much worse things will get in the meantime. But I hope we can get there. I want to feel like I live somewhere that actually tries to live up to the ideals it says it believes.
