Fixes:

• The `kitten.html` shorthands for plain HTMX client-side event handling of a Kitten Page’s default WebSocket lifecycle (`on:connecting`, `on:connect`, and `on:disconnect`) were generating faulty HTMX code (the Alpine.js versions, `@on:connecting`, `@on:connect`, and `@on:disconnect`, were fine). The plain HTMX versions now also generate working code.

• Replaced direct `eval` in a statement in the Kitten Introspection API to improve safety and silence the esbuild warning.

🥳 New Kitten Release

• Implement garbage collection timeout for unconnected pages

Added a timeout to KittenPage instances so that if they do not connect within 10 seconds, they are garbage collected.

This is to avoid a memory leak in the scenario where a person rapidly refreshes a class-based (state maintaining) Kitten page. In such a scenario, the almost instant page lifecycle does not allow enough time for the page’s default WebSocket to connect and disconnect from the client. As we normally garbage collect pages when their default WebSocket disconnects, this leaves the page object in memory, creating a memory leak.

To fix the problem, set the mode to HTTP Get in the PrettyURLs plugin or apply the patch from this thread.

⁃ Bug fix: Kitten no longer awaits events bubbled from the client to the server.

Kitten’s Streaming HTML workflow¹ transparently bubbles events from the client to the server so you can keep all your code on one tier and stream HTML updates to the page. Anyway, so I was awaiting events while bubbling them instead of just firing them off in parallel which meant that if you had delays, etc., in some of your event handlers, the timing of other event handlers would be affected. This is now fixed so your event handlers should fire independently of each other. (Your async event handlers will continue to work as intended so you can script animations, etc., by awaiting delays within them.)

#DearDiary, today I diagnosed an issue, fixed it, and submitted a PR for somebody else's #code for a #vscode extension, because I wanted to use that extension to work on my own project but couldn't without the #bugfix. Now the extension works (on my machine) and I can get back to shaving this yak.

Google łata Pixele po raz drugi w grudniu. Masz model 8, 9 lub 10? Sprawdź aktualizacje

To nietypowa sytuacja. Google, które zazwyczaj trzyma się sztywnego harmonogramu comiesięcznych aktualizacji, wypuściło właśnie drugą łatkę w grudniu 2025 roku. Powód? Krytyczne błędy, które irytowały właścicieli najnowszych flagowców, w tym Pixela 10.

Aktualizacja typu „out-of-cycle” (poza cyklem) to znak, że coś poszło nie tak przy standardowym, grudniowym „feature dropie”. Google udostępniło już obrazy fabryczne i OTA, a łatka trafia właśnie na telefony w regionie EMEA (Europa), co potwierdza numer kompilacji kończący się na .A4.

Co naprawiono?

Lista poprawek jest krótka, ale dotyczy kluczowych funkcji:

• Drenaż baterii: naprawiono błąd powodujący szybsze niż zwykle zużycie energii w modelach Pixel 8, 9 i 10. Jeśli Twój telefon ostatnio ledwo dociągał do wieczora – to może być ratunek.
• Problemy z dotykiem (Pixel 10): użytkownicy najnowszego modelu skarżyli się na „przerywany” dotyk i brak reakcji ekranu. Łatka ma to całkowicie eliminować.
• Dostęp do plików offline: rozwiązano problem z dostępem do lokalnie zapisanych treści (np. mapy offline, muzyka) po bezpośredniej aktualizacji ze starszych systemów do Androida 16.

Aktualizacja waży około 25 MB. Jeśli jeszcze nie widzisz powiadomienia, wejdź w Ustawienia -> System -> Aktualizacja oprogramowania i wymuś sprawdzenie dostępności.
