Had the brilliant idea that one of Ryan Coogler’s future films should be an adaptation of Ondaatje’s Coming Through Slaughter. Michael B Jordan would make a perfect Buddy Bolden. (Yes, a film about Bolden was made once already but has pretty much been forgotten.)

Update on long ongoing attempts at demolition by neglect of Buddy Bolden house by the Mortons & Greater St. Stephen Church.

Some of us have been fighting for it's preservation for over 30 years - I think there may be a few folks still around who were fighting decades earlier. It was added to the US National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
In July 2005 the back third of the building was demolished.
