Seit wir bei #BritishGas keinen Strom mehr kaufen, stellen die uns keine Gasrechnung mehr aus. Wir wurden schon mehrfach aufgefordert zu bezahlen. Wir haben denen jedes Mal geschrieben, dass wir erst eine Rechnung haben wollen. Die versichern uns jedes Mal eine Rechnung zuzuschicken und es kommt nichts.
Einmal kam eine fremde Rechnung für eine Wohnung 500km entfwrnt von uns per E-mail.Wenn wir eine Zahlugsaufforderung bekommen, könnten die einfach eine Rechnung beilegen.

Further exploration by BG through two successful wells — Gaza Marine 1 and Gaza Marine 2 — determined the field could contain up to 1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. "The Palestinian Authority was 'granted' the right to exercise sovereignty over its own maritime territory by the Oslo Accords in 1995. Four years later, following the findings of the offshore natural gas, the PA gave the international consortium BG a 25-year, 90% stake in a license to explore, develop any discovered fields, and install the required infrastructure. Since that time Israel has consistently blocked this development.
"In 2002, the PA approved BG’s proposals to construct a pipeline to a processing facility in Gaza. However, the Israeli state delayed this development, arguing that the pipeline should run to an Israeli-controlled port, and that Palestinians would have to supply Gaza Marine surplus fuel to Israel at far below market price.
"When Hamas won the Palestinian legislative elections in Gaza in 2007, Israel established a militarized naval blockade, prohibiting further offshore development. Around the same time, #YamThetis, an Israeli gas consortium, challenged the awarding of the contract to BG, further delaying the process.
"In December 2008, in total contravention of international laws, Israel declared sovereignty over the Gaza Marine area, and BG closed its offices in Tel Aviv.
"#RoyalDutchShell bought out BG’s interests in the #GazaMarineFields for $52 million in 2016. By March 2018, Royal Dutch Shell backed out of their investment, leaving the PA to search for a replacement company to develop the field. (EgyptOil-Gas.com, April 5, 2018)."

Updated 9:34 PM EDT, July 24, 2025PARIS (AP) — "French President Emmanuel Macron announced Thursday that France will recognize Palestine as a state, in a bold diplomatic move amid snowballing #GlobalAnger over people starving in #Gaza. Israel denounced the decision.
"Macron said in a post on X that he will formalize the decision at the U.N. General Assembly in September. 'The urgent thing today is that the war in Gaza stops and the civilian population is saved,' he wrote.
"The mostly symbolic move puts added diplomatic pressure on Israel as the war and #HumanitarianCrisis in the #GazaStrip rage. France is now the biggest Western power to recognize Palestine, and the move could pave the way for other countries to do the same. More than 140 countries recognize a #PalestinianState, including more than a dozen in Europe.
"The Palestinians seek an independent state in the occupied West Bank, annexed east Jerusalem and Gaza, territories Israel occupied in the 1967 Mideast war. Israel’s government and most of its political class have long been opposed to Palestinian statehood and now say that it would reward militants after Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack.
" '’We strongly condemn President Macron’s decision,’' Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement. ‘'Such a move rewards terror and risks creating another Iranian proxy, just as Gaza became. #BritishGas customer service is fucking attrocious. Their customer service email address is "not monitored". Their customer complaints address is "not monitored". But to deal with them interactively online you have to do it in hours (and you don't have an email trail to fall back on). I thought - on past experience - that they would be vastly better than EON Next who became incrementally ever worse. I was wrong.

There are still British Gas employees whose job it is to light Londons remaining 200-odd working gas lamps. Imagine your job title is literally serial gaslighter.
(This gas lamp in Carting Lane, London was placed over a sewer in Victorian times to encourage stagnant gas to rise and escape through the vent.

"On June 18, [2022], Israel gave preliminary approval for the development of a gas field off the coast of Gaza, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claiming progress would hinge on 'preserving the State of Israel’s security and diplomatic needs' and coordination with the Palestinian Authority and neighboring Egypt. At the same time, Hamas official Ismail Rudwan told Reuters: 'We reaffirm that our people in Gaza have the rights to their natural resources.'

"Five months before the March 2003 invasion, Baroness Symons, then the Trade Minister, told #BP that the Government believed British energy firms should be given a share of Iraq's enormous oil and gas reserves as a reward for #TonyBlair's military commitment to US plans for regime change.
"The papers show that Lady Symons agreed to lobby the Bush administration on BP's behalf because the oil giant feared it was being 'locked out' of deals that Washington was quietly striking with US, French and Russian governments and their energy firms.
"Minutes of a meeting with BP, #Shell and BG (formerly #BritishGas) on 31 October 2002 read: 'Baroness Symons agreed that it would be difficult to justify British companies losing out in Iraq in that way if the UK had itself been a conspicuous supporter of the US government throughout the crisis.'
"The minister then promised to "report back to the companies before Christmas" on her lobbying efforts.
"The Foreign Office invited BP in on 6 November 2002 to talk about opportunities in Iraq 'post #RegimeChange'. Its minutes state: "Iraq is the big oil prospect. BP is desperate to get in there and anxious that political deals should not deny them the opportunity.'
"After another meeting, this one in October 2002, the Foreign Office's Middle East director at the time, Edward Chaplin, noted: 'Shell and BP could not afford not to have a stake in [Iraq] for the sake of their long-term future... We were determined to get a fair slice of the action for UK companies in a post-Saddam Iraq."'

Yes we use #Hive. We had British Gas install our previous boiler and kept it under a service contract for years but since our last boiler was fitted (by a different contractor) we have had no contract with BG. We have never paid for Hive plus. All well till this morning when the house overheated. Thermostat still at 18.5.

I had years of problems with BG and even when I switched supplier they NEVER settled what they owed me. Happy to write that off to be rid of them. I'm now with Octopus, my bills are much lower and always right.
